Genius Bar themed iOS dock

While trying to create a wood texture with Photoshop I ended up making this graphic borrowing the look and feel of a typical Apple Store, or more precisely, a Genius Bar. I thought it would be fun to apply a few visual tweaks to some GUI elements currently used in the iOS home screen, combining materials such as glass, metal and wood.

So by doing this I learned how to visually recreate a certain type of wood grain, I also gained insight into the way Apple designed the dock and what styling it uses for text and icons on iOS devices sporting high resolution displays.
